Ukraine, Kamienec-Podilskiy, Polska brama (Polish gate)
Kamienec-Podilskiy has a big castle and a lot of towers all around the city. One of them is the Polish gate. It was restored in 1968, and the roof was built to protect it from weather, but in 1994 the roof was burned down by some stupid kids and from that time it was abandoned. This winter under the burden of snow the half of the tower have fallen :(
Lovely. But do you know if there are any plans to do a restoration of the collapsed portion of the tower. As much as the ruined aspect adds to its mystique it also adds to its further instability and the danger of further collapse.
A shame the government lets this kind of places to degrage to the point of no return. With some investment, the touristical return (not to speak of the cultural...) of be great.
