and it's pretty much right around the corner from me. So I grabbed my dog, some water and headed out. The guy who took the picture on the website wasn't kidding, it IS very peaceful there. I found out from my neighbor last night that she used to hang out with the Wrigley girls, but didn't know a whole lot about the house itself. There's a lot of land, and someone must mow around the buildings left there because there's a fairly wide path around the building. Heading south on Line 13, my dog and I entered the first driveway with the No Trespassing sign. It wasn't long before we came across some old farm equipment.
This is the ariel view from google maps with the surrounding buildings:

With the silo right behind it, I'm guessing this was the old barn.
It's deeper than it looks...
Back porch?
Basement window
Attic window... I really love the way they built this in.
The obligatory graffiti picture
Front porch! It's completely bathed in shade in the late afternoon heat.
Front steps... we welcome you...
Columns that likely would have held the roof of the porch up. They remind me of the rock/crystallized sugar candy you can buy on a stick. Some were half-gone and others have withstood the test of time.
And then there are buildings which used to sit on the former Asylum Property (now Ontario Provincial Police/Government property) and these, if you know Orillia at all, are on Memorial Ave, right across the road from Leon's.
