we went on an adventure out to check out this old estate called Janefield township in melbourne australia. Janefield township was virtually abandoned after closure of the mill (1862) and school (1877). In 1920 was used as a sanitarium for tuberculosis patients. Thus began the complex of buildings and grounds which became the Janefield Colony for children. The Special School was opened in 1937.
We have been there before but not for a long while, fortunately they still have a few buildings standing, most of them have been gutted and turned into apartments and turned into this new housing estate. They cold air in this building was insane, was almost like someone had left the aircon on. It was like ice and extremely dark and very eerie, lots of fun :)
