Below:LC 21 was the location from which MACE missles were launched. The piers/decks projecting from the structure are where the missles were loaded into the building for launch--much like a muzzle loaded rifle. The tube projecting from the rear are the flame tubes where the exaust form the rocket would be released. They are large enough to stand in. See http://www.mace-b.com/38TMW/Missiles/History.htm. The photo at the very bottom of this web page shows a rocket being fired from this, or this type, of structure.

More, please! These are great! If I could explore the derelict buildings of one area on earth, it would be the Cape. The history that's been made there...
