When I was little I remember exploring the house with her grandkids. But that was so long ago, I remember nothing of what it looks like inside.
Recently I asked my family, just to be sure, who owned that house and how long it's been empty: about 25 years it's been empty. The lady living there was "something else" and the neighbors on the other side bought the property and house from her when she left it and then let it rot.
That neighbor is elderly now. Her hubby died a few years ago. My mother, a few times a year, goes and chats with her. So... how does one go about asking for permission to photo-document this house? I think I'll ask my mom to help ease it into conversation. But how do you explain this artistic fascination/need to take photos of someone else's property?
