I had to come up with a reason, I said I needed to use the washroom. They told me guests only, and kicked me out.
I came back, this time when it was closed. The most memorable exploration of the place was a cold snowy Feb 29th, in the middle of a blizzard. It was perfect cover! The one thing that really caught my attention in this place was the amount of stuff left behind! Even whole offices were left setup as if they had just left for the day. Not to mention booze left in the bar.
Kinda creepy actually.
Built in the 1960s.
Most Park Plaza hotels have either closed, or changed ownership/names.
That's more weather appropriate!
Just so that we don't get lost.
Clean demolition. Workers are obviously removing salvagble materials. Note the clean work, this wasn't done by scrappers.
Escape! Roof access wasn't too inviting in the middle of a blizzard.
There's nothing good on TV anyways...
And this is why we can never find an ice bucket.
Staff lounge. There were still uniforms and shoes!
yes there was still booze in it, no we didn't drink any of it.
Gone for the day. At least that's what it looked like.
The IT offices. There was also a rack with a nice server, and several switches/routers.
Once filled with joyous noise, and parties. Their echos still linger.
Strike up the band and play a song as we go waltzing by...and fake a smile as we all say goodbye.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled winter.
