Girvin, TX

These photographs are from Girvin, TX, a the remains of a tiny town in the western part of the state. Before WWI, it expanded so rapidly that two new school houses had to be built in a year; after the Great Depression, all that was left were the remains of a few buildings. I know that one was the general store, and I suspect the other was a school house. Google maps can supply driving directions.
