The photos here are from the Facebook Misplaced Places group's trip out to Wright's Station, the northernmost waystation and railway portal before the railway that cut across the mountains from Santa Cruz reached Los Gatos and Saratoga. The bridge is from the time of the town - a modern road now cuts across it. The train tunnel portal and railway bridge supports are slightly off the road, hidden in the lush greenery of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
This portal was also the site of an accidental explosion during construction that took the lives of several dozen Chinese worker. An old abandoned Chinese graveyard is supposedly up in the hills somewhere, overgrown and lost.
