I really enjoy the community, so I thought I'd throw in a few amateur shots from the past weekend. While hiking in the wilderness of Paynes Prairie (FL) we came across this old deserted home.
All taken around Utica NY. HolgaSF just got my first roll back. oh dear holga i think we're going to get along just finnnnne :D next time i'll shoot 6x6 to get more vignetting.
I split the roll in half -- first half urban decay second half rural ruins.
The former home of a powerful and wealthy family in my community. I'm in the midset of finding out all the history of this place as well as its age. The bank next door bought it and will soon be tearing the home down. They've attempted to give it to me. However, the size and condition of the house makes it nearly 100K to move. I was only able to photograph the outside today but the bank will be giving me a key early next week. It's nice having someone's blessing to photograph a place (much better than sneaking around...not that any of us here would do that).
I remember visiting Mrs. Vanlandingham as a youngster. She was nearly 100 at the time and still living alone. I recall her having the prettiest roses and vegetables in the back yard.
these are pictures from an abandoned cement factory near my town. There are around 7 buildings on the site connected to atleast 10 silos as well as a few trains.
