I'll be returning soon to get some more detailed shots of the places I photographed this past week.

This was written in response to this post in the Abandoned Places LJ community by harmony_random. I thought it deserved to be posted here in general so it didn’t fall between the cracks. It’s not meant as a slap or a vent towards this person. It’s merely an explanation.

I'm new to the community and I'm quite excited that one such as this exists! Since I was a teenager I have been taking pictures of the many abandoned places around my home in NJ, and I would love to share them. However, I feel like many of these places might have been exhausted on this community already.

Would it be alright if I shared my pictures of Asbury Park, the Staten Island monastery, whipporwill valley, etc? Most of my pictures are from Asbury and I wanted to make sure no one would be sick of that by now.

Yeah, I went back today *lol* Nothing like a typical Northeast rustbelt town when it comes to abandonment. Anyhow, thanks to future_texan for pointing me in the direction of this old pumphouse along the canal.
