The builders removed much of the overgrown vegetation yesterday revealing the small 1915 blocks in the front and at the rear. They are very cute, with some original leadlight and Arts and Crafts style doors. There is an asbestos sign over the door so I'm guessing they'll remove that, as far as I know the flats will be renovated as well as the main building. The flats are four per building, I am wondering whether they'll stay that way or be larger. They are by a noted architect who also designed the Synagogue in Alma Road.
The rear flats:
The area on the right are the small kitchens and bathroom tacked on when the mansion was first divided. They seem to have already begun to dismantle them and the various ugly fire escapes.
The stables have had their roof removed and I am wondering if this will be a seperate residence or parking.
I will post more when they have done some more work!
