One of my friends (who lives in Florida) is helping reconstruct an abandoned house and turning it into a shelter for homeless women. She took photos of her first time there, and I'm sharing them with you guys because I'm madly in love with what she found.

Abandoned Places: Madison, AL Wander – April 09
In late April, between the many storms that hit the region, we went out on several wanders to see what we could. Along a major thoroughfare were several sites points out to us by friends so off we went.
The Portrait Studio
At the edge of Madison, AL, we were directed to this abandoned photo studio. It was a challenge to find because the house is literally being encased by nature. It is very difficult to see from the road and harder to show how this former home, turned studio could have fallen so hard, so fast. Last signs of occupation or (legal) use were in 1998
