Willson School in Cleveland Ohio

This is the abandoned Willson school in Cleveland, Ohio. It's currently on the list of schools to be torn down by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, so it won't be around for long. The school opened in 1903 and closed in 2005.

Because the school has only been closed for five years, there are a lot of artifacts inside like desks, cabinets, books, classwork and posters. One of the bulletin boards had a big collage of "Willson's 100th Year!" with pictures and articles about the school. Then two years later it was abandoned. Sad.

Abandoned Inn at Mount Equinox, Vermont

This Memorial Day my husband and I went to southern Vermont. We always take an opportunity to drive any mountain road, especially the one that gets you atop the highest mountain of the region as is the case with Skyline Drive. It is little advertised marvel in the Manchester area of Vermont. What little information I could find was mentioning spectacular views from the restaurant and inn that awaits you when you climb 3848 feet to the summit of mount Equinox. To our complete surprise, when we reached the summit we discovered that the inn is abandoned. Collapse )
