Docs & tattered tights, Punk rock legs

Battery Russell, Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon.

In August, I visited Oregon and spent some time at Fort Stevens State Park where the abandoned remains of Battery Russell are. The Battery itself is a fantastic structure and myself and my friend had a wonderful afternoon on a beautiful day to explore it. A bit of history about the structure from Wikipedia: Fort Stevens was an American military installation that guarded the mouth of the Columbia River in the state of Oregon. Built near the end of the American Civil War, it was named for slain Civil War general and former Washington Territory governor, Isaac Stevens. The fort was an active military reservation from 1863–1947. The fort is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

More information about this great place is here. Photos are beneath the cut.
