Moonlight on the Rutherford Stuyvesant Estate

The writings scrawled upon the walls of these unfortunate homes seem even more pronounced when viewed by the light of a full moon.
These houses and the snow-covered landscape that surrounds them were aglow beneath the night sky,
as the last lingering clouds broke apart and dissolved as a result of unrelenting high winds.
Winds which had started to noticeably gain in force during the short hike through the woods to my destination.
Though I was thankful for the open sky, these cold gusts cut through my coat and burned my face as they flowed across the open spaces.
The trees were agitated as well, and the forest moaned loudly as limbs and bark ground again each other,
their long shadows waving back and forth on the white floor of the forest, as if all the world were in some kind of dreamlike dance.

Pine Point, NWT, Canada

Pine Point was the townsite built at the Pine Point Mine in the Northwest Territories, Canada, which was an open-pit lead and zinc mine.

Abandoned in 1988.

Interactive documentary containing photos, video, and audio interviews from former residents

"Imagine your hometown never changed. That no one ever grew old or moved on. Part book, part film, part family photo album, Welcome to Pine Point unearths a place frozen in time and discovers what happens when an entire community is erased from the map."

Abandoned House in Tasmania, Australia

Knowing how much I love abandoned things my amazing and wonderful fiance took a few quick snaps of this little cutie while he is on a business trip to Hobart, Tasmania. This little house is apparently located around the block from his hotel and he passes it every morning when he makes his way to his work. So, he decided to leave a little early today and make a special stop to take a few pictures on his phone and send them to me. And I now have a sudden urge to pack my bags and hurtle off to Tasmania, haha!

She's apparently ear-marked for restoration so perhaps there is life in the old girl yet :) I do hope whoever plans to restore her is successful!

Royksopp's Senior

Not sure if this has been posted before?

This is a short film put together by Royksopp for their album 'Senior' with a lot of interesting abandoned landscapes.

I'm not sure what the location is, and despite being a little odd in some places I really enjoyed this.
