This sanatorium is located near former Carmadon village and near Kani village, in the Gizeldon valley in the Suburban district of republic North Ossetia-Alania. This valley is famous because of descending of Kolka glacier in 2002. Then many people dead: this glacier buried all Carmadon village with many people, which were there in that time.
But this sanatorium was abandoned eight years earlier, in 1994. It was happened after the destroying of Soviet Union, becoming of unstability on the North Caucasus and consequently ceasing of visiting tourists.
In late soviet time it has been one of the biggest sanatorium of the all North Caucasus, excluding Black Sea coast and Pyatigorsk area.
