A few years back I was in the area and did not stop to take photographs of this historic building. Recently I had the chance. The school is on the NRHP. It also appears on a preservation society's list of endangered sites. The building, boarded up for some time, has seen better days. The roof has since collapsed, which if one reads the nomination form from two decades ago is a travesty. A chain link fence surrounds former entrances. An adjacent structure, once the metal shop, serves as storage and is such in better condition. Locals say that a development group bought the property years ago but dreams of something big happening ended quickly.
