An abandoned resort on a remote tropical island

Divi Tiara Beach Resort operated in Cayman Brac from the 1980s through 2006. Cayman Brac is much smaller than Grand Cayman at only 12 miles long, and has a population of just over 2,000. It's very peaceful, and you could even park your car in the middle of the road and you won't see another car come by for several minutes. So why do I believe this place is so interesting? Well, so much was left behind, and it's a resort on a small remote island. That alone is enough to grab my interest!

Brand new trailer:

I discovered the abandoned resort during a one week vacation in April 2013. I flew in for relaxation and found an amazing project. I drove past the property several times before finally stopping to check it out. The resort is comprised of several buildings with guest rooms, an empty swimming pool, a beach bar, a DJ booth, parking spaces, a hotel lobby, several offices, a gift shop and a separate dive shop.
