Power Plant

This trip marks the first time a lot of us had been out exploring in months. We were pretty rusty. We actually tried to go to another power plant first but the entrance had changed and we couldn't get in. So then we decided to go here only to find all the easy entrances it used to have were now double fenced, and welded up, etc. Through determination we prevailed and got inside. However it was like 93*F outside and it was a hell of a hike and we were all so worn out we barely took pictures. Then while inside an employee showed up at the property and went inside the front building for some reason. Several cars came and went while we were inside but we managed to escape either way.

These are really awesome.
The way the light filters down through the dust in the opening image is incredible...
Everything is for-the-most-part untouched, except by time of course.

A lot has been scrapped. Kind of hard to tell for anyone who never saw it before though. But the turbines have been taken apart on the ends to get the copper from the windings inside. Lot of bad graffiti appearing as well. Nature has done a number on this place as the roof is in bad shape so everything is getting super rusty.

Great shots! I like them all, but the ones that trail off into the further expanse of those long hallways leave me awestruck. We just don't have much around here that compares to that scale. The streams of light in #28 and #34 are fantastic!

When this was completed the turbine hall here was the largest open room in the entire world.

You know, I bought that camera from you, and I totally suck at finding places in Baltimore to shoot. Somehow, you manage to weed out the most interesting spots! You must enlighten me!

The secret is to get out of Baltimore. The scene sucks there, everything good was turned into luxury condos or demoed.

Wow. All amazing shots, but the first one (#28?) looked like some underground steampunk town, and #22 reminded me of a dream nightmare I once had. Awesome place, awesome pictures.

The first two shots have to be my favorite our of the series. <3

One of the more amazing posts. I don't think there is a photo here I don't like. The lighting is perfect, so natural, in an otherwise unnatural place, and I love the colour tone in all the pictures, kind of muted.

The natural color of the place is just brown, gray, green, so that is just how it looks.
