Been really lazy about posting photos. These are probably almost 3 months old by now. On this day we hit the road in an attempt to get in a power plant but we found it surrounded by all kinds of workers. So we took a chance on this spot and for some reason someone left all the gates open and we easily got inside. I'm glad I went back and got my respirator because this place is without a doubt the most asbestos filled place I have ever been in. To top it off it is sealed pretty well so there is almost no ventilation. Architecturally this place is very similar looking to a few other power plants in the area. From the top of the place you almost can't tell the difference. But once inside the lack of any coal burning equipment makes the difference. This place was an OK explore. Glad I get to check it off the list. The short history of the place is it was built in 1927 to feed a steam system that is still in use to this day. It's been abandoned since the late 1980s.
9. Coincidentally that is also a list of great towns for UE...
17. Ironically not an HDR...
28. Bros before Hose...
31. You can see some of the plastic sheets they set up for asbestos abatement. Looks like they gave up on that lost cause...
33. It's not always sunny...
