Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy is the main city of Kamchatka, that is located in the Far East of Russia. Though Kamchatka is actually a peninsula it could be considered an island, it’s washed by the Pacific ocean and the Okhotsk Sea in the East, South and West and partitioned off from the mainland by mountains in the North. There are neither railway nor automobile road connection between Kamchatka and continental Russia, that’s why the passenger seaport was very important for the city. With the civil aviation development the passenger traffic through the port decreased dramatically and finally the building was abandoned.
It was built in 1963. The pictures are taken in 2008. Nowadays there exist a project of a new building but only on paper yet.
