There used to be this restaurant called the "Landmark Cafe" at this spot. The food was decent and it always seemed busy. A year or two ago, it closed down. Now the owners of the building are remodelling the restaurant to entice new owners. I drove past and noticed that there was a big "HOTEL" painted on the side that was previously covered by siding.

Immediately behind the restaurant is train tracks and on the opposite side of the street is the town's train station. I looked up some information on that particular rail line and I learned that the station was opened in 1844. I'd guess that the hotel opened sometime between then and 1860 (before the Civil War) to serve the needs of those travelling on the railroad. Unfortunately, the town doesn't have a historical society that I can consult to get any more information.
