The abandoned construction site is located in the central part of Kyiv, capital of Ukraine.
The joint construction project of City Administration and Ministry of Culture of Ukraine had started almost 40 years ago (in 1976). The project was suspended in mid 80-s due to budget cuts. In the post-Soviet times the venue was put for a number of auctions, but without any successful result.

It is sad that something could not have been made of this large structure. Maybe even low income housing. That would be better than letting it sit for all these years.

Given that this is the very center of the city, there is a so called "question of property". Most likely, the venue and this land plot is a property of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine which is not eager to say goodbye to a "very tasty piece of cake" .
