Abandoned Farm Property outside of Rock Port, Missouri

My husband and I stopped off at Rock Port, MO on our way to the family farm in Nebraska. I caught a glimpse of an old barn from the highway so we turned down a dirt road only to find something much better. As we came around a bend in the road we saw a shed that was falling apart. As I got out of the car to take a photo, I realized what was behind it; an abandoned farmhouse. This place was amazing. A large, red-brick home. Windows were broken, trees had taken over the lot. The whole structure seemed to lean to its right. I had to get a closer look.

This is the front of the house which is not easily seen from the road but I waded through waist-high grass to get a better look.

Here's the shed I saw first which was just cool in itself.

Back door.  Yes it was unlocked.

This is the view of the inside from the unlocked back door.  Super creepy.  Love the huge wood burning furnace.

Unfortunately, this was as close as I got.  The home looked unsafe (leaning) and I  had my three month old and husband in the car waiting.  I also couldn't get to the outbuildings as the grass was so high and I was pretty concerned about snakes.

Hope you enjoyed.
